What’s been happening:

I have had quite a journey since graduating from Penn State in 1966. I spent 6 years in the United States Navy Nuclear Submarine Service, my first 3 years were in classes learning about nuclear power and the last 3 were aboard the Nuclear Submarine, USS Ray SSN 653. Following the service I went to work for the Virginia Power Company now known as Dominion. I helped the company start-up the North Anna Nuclear Power Station and served in various management positions in their Nuclear Power Department over a period of about 15 years. Eventually I had oversight responsibility for the safe operation of all 4 of Virginia Power's nuclear reactors, 2 at North Anna and 2 at the Surry Power Station. In all I have been involved with nuclear power for 41 years and continue supporting the safe application of nuclear energy for electric power generation in my role as a Manager for AREVA NP Inc., the world's largest nuclear reactor plant supplier. I have a wonderful wife of 41 years Lois, a daughter Denise 38 and a son Kevin 35. My daughter has my beautiful granddaughter Ellie (6) and my grandson Daniel (7 months). My son has our other grandson Logan (2 yrs 9 months). The greatest lesson I have learned over all of this time is that it is not the degree you have that makes a difference it is the difference that you can make no matter what degree you have. We are, PENN STATE!
